Approach to Psychotherapy

Melissa Abraham, PhD, waiting area in Concord Therapy Office

Waiting Room Area

My approach has an emphasis on insight-oriented/psychodynamic and cognitive psychotherapy, but I use multiple approaches as appropriate tailored to your needs. Therapy generally is ongoing on a weekly basis.

I also offer short-term as well as single-session therapy, which you can read more about here.

In therapy, we will explore current patterns as well as root causes of problems in the context of you as an individual and those around you, while working together to actively make changes now.

Many of my clients struggle with relationships and family, symptoms of depression and anxiety or feeling stuck.  Others hope to address work-related problems, questions about identity, or are coping with loss or transitions. Please also see the areas listed on my home page.

People often have questions about how to select a therapist or about how therapy works, or how long people are in therapy. I will make sure your questions are addressed.

Please contact me if you would like to find out more about psychotherapy and the various options available for your concerns.

I can provide a brief telephone consultation to answer questions before setting up an appointment. All inquiries are confidential.
