Understand yourself and your past. Relieve distress. Improve unhealthy patterns. Have more connected relationships.
Psychotherapy offers a way to look more closely at patterns in our lives, look at how they developed and to change them in meaningful and lasting ways. Identifying how you think, feel, and relate to others may require understanding your history, relationships and emotional life.
As a clinical psychologist in Massachusetts, I work with adults of all ages and mature adolescents going through transitions, people who would like to understand how their past affects them now, and people who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed and who want to actively make changes.
My work is grounded in an insight-oriented approach that incorporates practical evidence-based strategies to help you with problems and patterns that interfere with life and cause distress. I believe that meaningful change often comes from deeper, sustained work.
At the same time, therapy needs to be adaptable to all the complexities in our lives and I understand that not everyone is seeking long-term work.
